ABOUT DJ HASTON
I got my first set of decks in 1995 and started off mixing Bouncy Techno and Happy Hardcore. I got my first break in 1998 playing at an under 18s event in my hometown of Falkirk alongside legends of the Scottish scene like Tom Wilson. The hardcore scene in Scotland declined massively in the late 90s and a trip down to Afterdark 2 in South Shields (1999) completely changed everything for me. I couldn't believe the amount of people and the atmosphere in the club as everywhere in Scotland was completely dead at the time. I also couldn't believe the music that was getting played (Spanish, German, Italian) and how I hadn't heard it before. It was like a whole new world for me. Myself and my mate Colin (Bounceman) travelled down to Sunderland to meet with DJ Scott and buy a load of records from him (these were Bit Music records that Scott had just brought back from Spain). This lead to my North East debut when we were booked to play at Hangar 13 in August 2000. Many bookings followed in the North East, mainly at Hangar 13 and Oasis. I moved down here permanantly in 2005 and have since played at events like Judgement Day, Raveolution, Elevation, Monta Musica, Hysteria, Soundscape, Happedaze, Seismic as well as continuing to get bookings in Scotland and Yorkshire. I've played various different styes over the years but I'm best known for my 3 deck sessions incorporating Makina, UK Hardcore, German Trance etc. I've recently been trying to get into production as well and I've completed a few tracks with a couple of releases on the Makina Scotland label.
